To our loyal friends and readers
We’re going POSTAL! The People’s Press is celebrating its sixth anniversary with many new and exciting changes. We’re increasing our home delivery from 16,000 to 20,000 AND we’re now delivering the paper straight to your mailbox by U.S. Mail. No other newspaper comes close to our home delivery by mail. Don’t worry – we’ll still be at hundreds of locations in Wallingford, Meriden, Middlefield, Durham, Cheshire, North Haven, Plantsville and Middletown.
Our mission continues to be for the greater good of our readers and our towns. The Peoples' Press is and always will be about you, your stories, your photos, your news and more – and our recent changes allow us to do so much more for you.
If you’ve checked us out online lately, then you’ve noticed additions there, too. Of course, the entire issue, local links and information has always been online at www.peoplespressnews.com.
But you’ve probably also noticed that you can now read the paper in text format at our blog and message board. And our direct link to the Bargain News lets you place free classifieds for items under $3,000 and search for autos in the Northeast’s most visited and utilized service site. Keep an eye out for one of the nation’s largest employment search engines specified to our area to be on line with us soon.
Whether in print or on line, our philosophy remains the same – good news should be shared, not sold. So we’ll never charge readers to browse through the paper online. We know how frustrating that is!
We’re also pleased to announce that Chrissy Rutiligiano and Lisa Kilroy have joined The Peoples' Press as advertising consultants to serve our sponsors as we continue to grow. You can reach Chrissy at 203.679.0789 or by email at chrissy@peoplespressnews.com. You can reach Lisa at 203.235.9333 or by email at peoplespress@peoplespressnews.com.
Our managing editor, Carrie S. Purcell, has some good news of her own – with a little one on the way. For now, Andy will take the role of managing editor, as well as publisher. Carrie will remain with the paper, as copy editor, and we are glad she is! She will resume her regular duties after a period of enjoyment with her new baby.
Thanks go to all of our sponsors for keeping the dream of good news alive – that’s why we offer them more for no extra charge! For example, we don’t charge to place their ads online and with a link. And ads online are exactly as they appear in print. So, when you sponsor the paper, your ad is there with a free link to your website. Our sponsors know we are by far the NUMBER 1 Single Copy NEWSPAPER serving all of Central Connecticut with a readership that appreciates who we are and what we do – and they’ll love you for sponsoring the paper. By the way, why go in 7 papers when you can go in The Peoples' Press for far less?
One more thing. Andy is pleased to offer full creative, consulting and print services from flyers to books to brochures to newspapers - no matter what you think you need. You can reach him at 203.235.9333 or by email at andyreynolds@peoplespressnews.com.
Sincerely, Andy Reynolds – Owner and Publisher
